How to know that it is a warren?
Warrens and holes are the places where rabbits live. These places are mostly bare and hence warrens are prone to wind and water erosion. The homes of the rabbits appear stony as compared to the nearby grounds. The reason behind this stony appearance is the rabbits when they dig a hole, they bring the stones up. Such homes cause normal injuries and the rabbits are a nuisance when all of them gather in one particular area.
Breeding Seasons and Territorial Marks
During breeding seasons the rabbits form groups. The groups consist of 1-3 males and 1-7 females. Since they have a defined hierarchy, many groups can stay in one warren. During breeding seasons the rabbits defend their territories and feed within limited areas only.

The territories are created by rabbits by piling their dungs. Anal gland secretions are piled up around their territory. Their chin has a special gland which when rubbed with any object produces odour. This odour is used by them to define their territory while breeding. The territory is created by the male rabbits.
